As part of our Rainforest topic we were inspired by Henri Rousseau's painting, Tiger in a Tropical Storm. We then created our own interpretations using drawing, painting and collage skills.
Remembrance at Howe Dell 2020
In 2.2 we made poppy pictures to display in our window, and to share for a display in our library and local care home, Sanctuary House.
We also wore red and black, shared a moment of reflection and respectfully observed the 2 minute silence to remember those who have made sacrifices for the good of us all.
School grounds walk to inspire Writing - November 2020
After reading the story Voices in the Park by Anthony Browne in our English lessons, we went on a walk around our school grounds, stopping off at some of the different features that we encountered on our journey.
We then used this sequence of events to write recounts, using adverbials of time to order events in our writing.
First we lined up ready to go!
Then we walked over to the beautifully carved dragon bench.
Next we sat in the Look-out and played a game of I Spy.
After that we walked along the path to Kingfisher Island.
Mr Smith showed us the heron.
Later we crossed over the narrow bridge to get to the Eco Bus.
Finally we listened to a story before returning to class.

BMX Wonder Day September 2020
What a fantastic way to start the new term! The children were amazed and inspired by Mike and his BMX display. They learned important lessons about how we should never say "I can't" but should instead learn from our mistakes and keep going!

Circus Workshop
22-06-17
Lots of action today. Teachers arrived at school this morning and found two eggs had hatched. Looking back on the camera we found they hatched about 6:30am. Throughout the day we noticed some more cracks appearing and could even see beaks poking through holes in the shell. Eventually, we were super lucky to watch as an egg hatched right before our eyes straight after lunchtime. Year two have been very excited today. After school Miss Brind and Mrs Blow set up their new home and moved the fluffy chicks that were ready. Two had to stay behind in the incubator as they were not fluffy enough and they need to encourage the other eggs to hatch. Year two children now need to look after the chicks; making sure they have enough food and water. We have certainly enjoyed filling in our chick diaries today!
