Parent Staff Association (PSA)

Howe Dell wouldn't be Howe Dell without our amazing PSA. Christmas Shopping Days, despite COVID and so cleverly risk assessed. Also our Goodbye 2020 Discos across the site, all safe and virtual, have made this Christmas memorable and positive for all, thanks to your dedication. Thank you.

Howe Dell Parent School Association (Howe Dell PSA) organise fun events and activities for the children and parents/carers, raising money to put back into the school.  Some of the money raised in the past has been used towards:

o Wonder Days

o Themed week contributions

o Equipment for school (play equipment, indoor table tennis, reading books, and most recently a £5,000 contribution towards new laptops)

We offer discos, movie nights and a Christmas shopping day for the children, a summer fete for all the family and other small events each year, e.g. ice cream sales after school. The PSA also support a number of school events by providing refreshments throughout the year, e.g. Howe Dells Got Talent final, Open evening BBQ.

However we are always open to new suggestions for our next project and any event/fundraising ideas.

We do rely heavily on the help and support from parents/carers in addition to the staff and governors of the school.  Without parents/carers helping or being a part of Howe Dell PSA, we cannot run our events.  If you are interested in helping at any of our events in future, please email us at – you can always pair up with another parent/carer in school if you don’t want to help by yourself. This will not commit you to helping at every event but rather means we will contact you when we need assistance to find out if you are available.

Becky Mead is the Chair of the PSA and Natalie Kortekaas is the Treasurer.   You can contact them in a number of ways..they're always on the playground collecting their own children,  you could leave a message at the school office or email them at

The PSA have a Facebook page (Howe Dell Primary School PSA) is run by the PSA, not the school. We’ll use this page to pass on information about events for both children and parents/carers of the school.  Feedback of the page is very positive so please join and we’ll add you to the page (NB posts do require admin approval).

THANK YOU PSA for a Christmas Shopping Day, with a special treat: REAL reindeer came from Santa as he had heard how great the children's learning and behaviour had been!

New Playground equipment ordered following a whole School and families vote on where we should spend £7000 PSA funds. Play Leaders to lead votes on last details by Y1 to Y6.

Thank you to our amazing PSA who sold sports kits and have so far raised over £600 profit to benefit pupils' experiences at Howe Dell! Great idea for a new event, Don't forget family BBQ planned prior to African Story Telling Summer 2017 and of course... our Fete and Circus, already booked! We also hope to sell ice lollies again after school on sunny days, if we have sufficient volunteers to cover a session or two for up to half an hour. Please don't hesitate to get in touch via Face Book, Twitter, or chat to Annette or Becky - or leave a message through the School Office. New ideas always welcome and so too are volunteers to support, with new people joining in each term.
