School Meals / Milk
School meals at Howe Dell are locally sourced. Children are encouraged to eat healthy foods as part of our Healthy Schools and Healthy Eating schemes. We currently offer Wednesday specials which consists of a roast dinner and Friday specials.
From September 2014 the Government have introduced Universal Free School Meals. This initiative provides free meals to children in Reception,, Year 1 and Year 2. Year 3 and above pupils will still be charged for school meals. The cost of a school meal for Key Stage 2 is currently £2.20 per day as of September 2015.
Dinner money is collected in advance on the first day of term. Parents may pay half-termly if they wish.
If your child changes to packed lunches we request half a terms notice to arrange this. If your child chooses to bring a packed lunch into school we ask you avoid sending in any chocolate, products that contain nuts and supply water only as a drink.
School Milk is available to all Reception and Key Stage 1 children. Letters are sent out towards the end of each term offering milk and stating term prices. Please ensure you complete and return the slip before the 'return by' date in order to ensure your child receives milk.
