Autumn 2 2025
Smart School Council helps every child to engage and lead change in their world through democracy.
The programme, run by our Communication Team, enables every child’s voice to be involved in topical discussions while they are at school, and that pupils can learn a broad range of key skills as a result.
Our Smart School Council is helping our young people by:
It is for everyone in our school, helping pupils to:
Our Smart School Council is driven by our Communication Team, who decide and circulate a question of the half term. They then work together with the action team to ensure that suggestions , made by their peers across the school, are then discussed and acted upon, where possible.

We have a brand new team of School Council Leaders this year. The new are really excited to lead some exciting projects and to share their views on how we can improve our school this year.
We met to discuss some ideas we would like to work on across the year and we will begin working in teams to work out how we can begin these projects.
We also discussed how we are going to fundraise for Children in Need 2025. This year the theme is 'Challenge 25' so each class is going to find a way to challenge themselves to do something 25 times. Our School Council Leaders will hold Class Meetings and each class will decide on an activity they will complete. Our School Council Leaders are also very busy creating some posters to encourage adults to donate and these will put up around the school nearer the time.

For Children in Need this year we took part in Challenge 25. School Council led meetings in classes to decide what challenge each class could complete to raise awareness for Children in Need. Some activities classes chose included doing 25 star jumps, 25 skips with a rope or dancing for 25 minutes. School Council made posters to put up around the school to encourage adults to donate to Children in Need to support our challenges.

We are continuing to raise funds for new lunchtime equipment. School Council held a Sport Gadget Shop Sale after school to sell sports equipment for children to purchase and take home. We made posters to advertise the event to everyone and put these up around school. We managed to raise £168!
