Ready for Autumn Term on Time

The School building is safe for opening as planned for 5th September 2016. This will include usual access for Howe Dell School, Day Care and Children’s Centre staff, children and their families. Deep cleaning has been completed, the site has been reviewed by expertise beyond school staff and with close involvement of Hertfordshire County Council. New flooring has been laid in Day Care and all Day Care furniture and resources have been returned from upstairs to the usual Day Care rooms for the start of term on Monday.

(It may be that additional maintenance workers are spotted on the roof in the coming weeks, this is maintenance and is not unusual, it does not involve the moving of any glass, but mentioned in case activity causes any concerns).

The Community Hall sharing our site, which also shares the same structure and glass panels was reported as having one cracked panel of glass. Updates as to the repair or replacement and access arrangements should be established through Birchwood Leisure, as not the responsibility of Howe Dell School leadership team or Governors, but Hatfield Town Council.

The maintenance and development of our site as well as ongoing work resulting from the ceiling panels being replaced and reviewed have all been completed on time and all classrooms and public areas are bright, clean, tidy and ready for the start of Autumn 2016 term. My thanks to our Facilities Team for their work on this throughout the summer.
