What are Young Cultural Ambassadors?
This Hertfordshire programme aims to increase opportunities for children to participate in the arts and culture, develop leadership skills, and create new connections between primary and secondary schools and cultural organisations. It supports children to champion and enhance their local cultural offer and increase engagement in cultural activity amongst their peers.
We are beginning our fifth year with YCAs at Howe Dell. They have previously had opportunities to visit the Royal Opera House, the University of Hertfordshire, attend a variety of meetings and workshops, attended a dance production at the Round House Theatre and take part in a national sewing project!
The YCAs have pitched their ideas for this academic year to Mrs Massey - events include a story writing competition, Chinese New Year event and Music Festival! Keep your eyes peeled for more information!
The YCA's were lucky enough to be allocated tickets to see a dance production at the Roundhouse Theatre in London called The Madhatters Tea Party. This was through the Royal Operah House schools matinee opportunities.
