Welcome to Year 2 Class 1's page!
You will be able to look at photos of our learning, read our work and keep up to date with our class newsletters.
Lots of action today. Teachers arrived at school this morning and found two eggs had hatched. Looking back on the camera we found they hatched about 6:30am. Throughout the day we noticed some more cracks appearing and could even see beaks poking through holes in the shell. Eventually, we were super lucky to watch as an egg hatched right before our eyes straight after lunchtime. Year two have been very excited today. After school Miss Brind and Mrs Blow set up their new home and moved the fluffy chicks that were ready. Two had to stay behind in the incubator as they were not fluffy enough and they need to encourage the other eggs to hatch. Year two children now need to look after the chicks; making sure they have enough food and water. We have certainly enjoyed filling in our chick diaries today!
The chicks have arrived!
On Monday 19th June 2017 ten eggs were brought to Howe Dell. They have a special incubator that keeps them warm. We are waiting for the eggs to hatch!
We have been learning to identify 2D and 3D shapes. At home try hiding a shape, describe it and see if your family can guess what shape it is.
Thank you to everyone who brought a pet for us to see and hear about. We have had a great day.
We have been investigating materials. We can say the name of an object and what it is made of. A big thank you to the Facilities team who helped us to investigate the bets waterproof materials.
