HCC COMMUNICATION - PENALTY NOTICES FOR TERM TIME HOLIDAYS

 

The following notification was received from Herts County Council:- 

 

In accordance with Herts County Council Guidance May 2017:

 

"Head Teachers should only authorise leave of absence in exceptional circumstances.  If a Head Teacher grants a leave request, it will be for the Head Teacher to determine the length of time that the child can be away from the school.  Leave is unlikely, however, to be granted for the purposes of a family holiday as a norm." 

 

Illness

If your child is unwell and needs to stay off school please could you notify the school as soon as possible via the absence line from our main switchboard. Call 01707 263291 and choose Option 1.

 

If your child has been vomitting or had diarrhoea they must stay at home for at least 48 hours following the illness to prevent it being passed on to others.

 

We are aware there are cases of swine flu still being reported in the area. If you suspect your child may have or is showing symptoms of swine flu please do NOT send them into school. Inform the school that your child will be absent and call NHS Direct on 0845 4647 who will be able to give you further advice.

 

Annual Holiday Leave

Schools are not allowed to grant leave of absence in term time as per Government and Head Of Education instruction.  Where you must request leave of absence please complete the form below and hand it in to the school office.  You will be informed whether permission has been given for the absence.
